Botswana police network
During 2001 and 2002, GPL won several tenders to upgrade the Eastern part of the Botswana Police private telecommunications network.

Timeslot grooming for Celtel GSM networks
Over the past 6 years GPL has supplied UMUX multiplexers to most of the Celtel GSM networks in Africa. The two applications were timeslot grooming to optimize the microwave radio backbones and extending ISP services to remote high sites.
Countries for these projects include: Swaziland, Botswana, Angola, Malawi, Tanzania, Gabon, Congo B, Congo DRC, Uganda and Sierra Leone.

Voice compression equipment in the DRC
During 2003 GPL provided voice compression systems for a cellular operator in the DRC. This equipment was based on VoIP technology and was used to optimize bandwidth over satellite links between Kinshasa, Belgium and two smaller towns in the DRC. The voice compression equipment formed part of a larger project to upgraded the equipment and bandwidth at all three sites in the DRC.

Oman Tetra network
In early 2004 GPL provided backbone infrastructure for a Tetra wireless network for the Omani government. This TETRA network was based on VoIP technology.

SAPS 2-way radio network
During 2003 GPL was sub-contracted by a South African company which was tasked with upgrading the Gauteng communications network of the South African Police.
The SA Police were required to remove their 1.8GHz microwave radios to free this spectrum for the GSM operators. This meant that modern N x E1 digital radios needed to be deployed in conjunction with multiplexers to convert the original services for transport in the E1 format.

Swaziland Post and Telecoms Company
Over the past 6 years, GPL has supplied over 50 UMUX multiplexers to SPTC. The main application has been voice and data access over optic fibre transmission.

Voice compression systems in Tanzania
During 2002 GPL provided voice compression systems for a Tanzania Telecommunications Company Ltd. This equipment was based on VoIP technology and was used to optimize bandwidth over satellite links between Dar Es Salaam and three smaller towns in Tanzania.
The voice compression equipment formed part of a larger project to upgrade the equipment and bandwidth at all four sites. For this project it was necessary to integrate with the R2 signaling still used in the TTCL switching network at the time.

VoIP gateways from Nuera, which were configured to function as back to back DCME equipment
Later a Soft Switch was introduced so that calls could be switched dynamically to optimize bandwidth
UMUX multiplexers provided timeslot grooming facilities
Cisco routers to switch the gateway traffic
